Our Approach
The Next Step – Joplin began as a volunteer effort driven by a few commuity members who wanted to provide shelter to houseless people during the winter of 2019/2020. We operated a temporary warming center to allow people who had no where to go shelter during the coldest nights. Since that time, we have grown to become a full-fledged, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping houseless people better their lives and gain independence.
